Early summer sunshine casts light upon red May, and the ancient capital Jinling is filled with vitality. On the arrival of the first International May Labor Day of the new century, the Huaxia Bank Nanjing Branch was awarded"The National May First Labor Award" by the Chinese Federation of Trade Unions which entrusted the CPC Committee of Jiangsu Province, the Provincial Government and the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions held a grand board and certificate awarding ceremony on April 30,2001 where Wang Yimin, President of Huaxia Bank Nanjing Branch, received the "The National May first Labor Award" board and the honorary certificate respectively from Liu Fang,Vice Secretary of Jiangsu Provincial Committee of Enterprises, and from Li Xiaobu, Vice Chairman of Jiangsu Provincial Federation of Trade Unions. That exciting moment was taken into an everlasting memory by our photographer. Looking at this shining board, all the Nanjing Huaxia staff members are greatly encouraged. Looking back at the past six years, under the guidance of the Head Office of Huaxia Bank, the CPC Committee of Jiangsu Province, the Provincial Government and the People's Bank of China, sticking to the great theories of Deng Xiaoping, we Huaxia staff have been brvely pioneering and unitedly struggling, and with diligence and intelligence, we become prominent in Jiangsu finance history with the following merits: ----We survive and develop in sharp competitions, we take every opportunity possible to expand our business, we created a "Huaxia speed":Setting up a provincial-level branch within 38 days, and opening a new chain office every 55 days; ----We insist on the principle "Development is an unshakeable truth",so within a short period of six years, Huaxia Nanjing Branch has deposits over 13 billion yuan, general assets over 17 billion yuan, accomplished profits over 0.7 billion yuan, achieved profits per capita over 2 million yuan; ----We value assets as our life, with accumulative total grant credits around 40 billion yuan, the rate of colleting interest has always been above 99%,and the rate of being overdue has always been below 2%; ----We believe in "being strict in both areas",we created the "Huaxia Spirit"; all members emphasize devotion,diligence, efficiency, and effectiveness; ----We apply science and technology to vitalizing our bank, we developed Huaxia Wantong Card, combining financial science and technology with public transportation science and technology, and issued at once 800 thousand or so such cards, being No.1 in the world as far as circulation within one city(Nanjing0 is concemed, winning affirmation from the Ministry of Construction of China.Th Guangming Daily newspaper praised us by commenting "A new bank refreshed new life; a small bank did big things"; ----We have kept an excellent record of "no economic or criminal cases, no major liability accidents, no economic losses"since the foundation of Huaxia Nanjing Branch six years ago, receiving for many times praises and awards from the Public Security Department of Jiangsu Province, he Provincial Procuratorate and the People's Bank of china; ----We have been rated as a "National advanced Unit in Spiritual Civilization Construction"by the Central Directing Committee of Spiritual Civilization Construction, and as a "National Exemplary Spot ofcivilization Window" by the Central Financial Working committee. Besides, nine sub-branches and three sections with more than 180 outstanding members have won various credits.
